Set up an external login site

You can set up a login site for your external courses to ensure that only recognized users are given access to the Learning Center, for example, if you want to use your own URL for signing in your users.

Note
Before you can set up an external site, you need to buy a SSL certificate and send this to Cursum in an inpfx file format together with the domain name for the external login site.

To set up an external site for your users to log in:

  1. In Full Admin, under Wizards, click Create New Course and select Create Blank New Course.
  2. On the Blank New Course tab, give the course a name to make it clear that it is your external login site and in the Course Type dropdown, select Login Site.
  3. On the External Course Settings tab, turn on the toggle that says, "Would you like to save the course as an External Course?", specify that it is an external course type and enter the URL for the login page. The user is automatically named with _Impersonator added to the name.
    Note
You can rename the user, but the name must end with _Impersonator.
  4. On the Add Groups to New Course tab, select the Would you like to add groups to the new course? toggle button and select the All Users group
  5. Click Save as new course found on the right corner of the page.
  6. On the top-level node of the course, right-click and select Add New Slide.
  7. Enter a name in the Title field, select the template and in under Type, select Normal slide click Save.
  8. On the slide, right-click the content area where you want to add the login fields and then choose Add a new asset.
  9. In the Asset MetaData Editor, in the Asset Type dropdown select the Login asset.
  10. In the Login Asset Editor click Save.
