Generating subtitles using Azure Media Services is made simple on the Media settings page in the Control Panel. Generated subtitles or existing vtt subtitle files can even be auto-translated into various languages with our translation service module. Here’s how you use this functionality in the Control Panel.

1. If you have an existing upgraded video file, go to Course view in the Control Panel and select Organize Content.

2. Right-click on the page with a video file and click Edit page. 

3. On the Media settings page, under Video and audio settings, click Analyze video. When analyzed successfully, the button “Add auto generate subtitle” will be available. Click the said button to generate a subtitle for your video. 

4. Once clicked, you can now auto-translate an existing vtt subtitle file to any language by clicking the Translate existing button. (extra module)

5.  Select a language by clicking the dropdown under “Select language to translate to.” Click Translate, and then save the changes.

Note: If you want to upload an already created VTT file this can be done via Add new track. Please note that the filename must be VTT and without spaces or special chars like æøå.
