We’ve given the Control Panel a modern look!

We are excited to bring you the latest enhancement we made in the Control Panel, most specially the statistics pages! As an effort to improve and refashion the look and feel of the whole Control Panel, we started implementing changes and upgrades on its UI and UX to highlight its modern design and its pages’ consistency. Labels were also changed and language versioned to address uniformity and improve understandability.

What’s to see?

The changes that were implemented include enhancing the appearance of buttons, icons, tiles, headers, menus, and charts. Most importantly, the newly designed Control Panel provides you seamless ways to move from one page to another with the help of improved button locations and navigations.

It is now easier for clients to identify specific modes or views because we created an extra navigation inside sub menus, specifically on the Reporting and Manager view. Within this navigation are new icons that help users identify or recognize the different areas or pages within the Reporting and Manager view.

We added an option to make tiles configurable so that you can choose from two different styles: a default card or simple card icon left layout.

  New features

Part of the new features we’re introducing in the Control Panel are navigation tiles in the Users and Courses statistics. These tiles serve as a navigation tool to help access relevant information about domain usage and domain statistics.

Domain usage and domain statistics

Looking at the Users page for example, you’ll see three different tiles which are accessible depending on user’s role. By clicking the Usage statistics tile, it will provide a history of domain users. (e.g. number of users and logins) On the other hand, the Domain dashboard gives an overview of all the activities inside a domain. Most of the elements inside the dashboard are made clickable to help users filter specific reports.

In Courses, we turned to standardized tile sizes to make them simpler to navigate and more recognizable for users.

Tiles linked to a bookmark

For highly customized solutions, you can now make tiles on your front page that links to a bookmark that gives a specific view of a report about a course, location, or organization. By doing this, users can save time navigating to pages where bookmarks are saved.

New Learning plan statistics views

Adding to the new features in the Reporting view are some new ways to view the Learning statistics per plan and organization. For example, if you go to Organization, you can select all learning plans, toggle selected buttons to view these learning plans according to your preferences. It can be viewed as a grouped list or based on which are only mandatory.

If you select a specific learning plan, you have an option to view it based on a detailed list to see how many have started or completed the learning plan. You can also have the same view when you select the mandatory objectives.

  What else is new?

We simplified the process of adding learning objectives to courses by creating a new course objective wizard. You can use the new wizard to add a type of objective/action required for a course’s completion without doing the old way. You can now also add multiple sessions in the Control Panel using the new add session wizard.

We understand that you have gotten used to the Default skin of the Control Panel, so we made sure that the upgrades will not affect previous functionalities. While the changes and new features are apparent, the way you use the Control Panel will be the same as before.

As of now, you have the options to switch back to the old default css skin or use the new one. However, we will have a soft launch of the new Control Panel on October 20. We will be sticking with the new design and the old one will be deprecated.

As a result of the said changes, we have updated the screenshots of our documentations in the App Center.

Step by step, we are moving towards providing more innovative ways to improve the responsiveness and usability of our program, one of which is to ensure that the visual design of the Control Panel continues to adhere to WCAG standards. The upgrades we’ve done in the Control Panel is not just a reflection of our strong commitment to improving our product, it is also a testament to our unending dedication to satisfying the needs of our clients and partners.
