Blended courses

Blended courses are courses that combine traditional elearning with classic classroom activities facilitated by a trained educator. These types of courses use the classroom time for activities that benefit from direct interaction, while making the most of online methods for delivering knowledge.

Blended courses are usually made up of the following elements:

  • Online courses
  • Structured independent study time guided by the material
  • Classroom instructor-led training

Blended repetitive learning is used for courses that require re-certification to maintain compliance.

For a blended course, you need to create the course with the following settings:

  • Enable Course sessions, for example, to assign a classroom or webinar resource to the course. Each session has a start and end time. Blended courses have a mixture of online and classroom sessions.
  • Enable date settings for the course and each session
  • Max participants and wait lists - so that users can sign up for sessions
  • Add and set up the Registration (or the Course Catalog) asset on your course slide
  • Restrict availability to the course based on a particular group
  • Assign instructors to a session
