Add a Media Asset to a Page

To add a Media asset, go to Tool Panel and click the + icon or the Course content button.

Select your preferred template, and then input the page’s title. If you want to set it as a learning objective, turn on the “Track as learning objective button.” Click Save once finished.

Click on the + icon and then select Media.

Under the Media Settings, upload your chosen media. Let’s say you want to use a video file. Click Select to upload your video file.

When you set the slide's objective as completed (completed or passed), enabling "Set status on page to completed on play end” will automatically set the page’s status to "completed" when the video play ends.

You may or not choose a navigation action when the video ends playing, should you redirect users to another page, choose from the following navigation options:

  • Go to next page – users will be redirected to the next page
  • Go to course start page – users will be redirected to the start page of the course
  • Go to user's default course – users will be redirected to their default course
  • Go to page (CAID) – users will be redirected to a selected page or CAID
  • Go to user’s last bookmark – users will be redirected to their last bookmarked page
  • Go to next page – users will be redirected to the next page
  • Show end-screen poster – an end-screen poster will be displayed

Note: Not selecting a media type means you’re telling the system to automatically determine the best settings for the file you’re about to upload.

Once you choose a media type (e.g., Video/audio playlist), you must configure its settings by yourself.

If you selected the first option, which is to automatically determine the best settings for the file, you just need to upload the file and then click Save

Clicking the Advanced settings will lead you to the Control Panel. Basically, the page contains the same settings as the inline editor. There are, however, a few functionalities you can use to edit the media asset.

For example, if you go to the Advanced Settings, Page settings, you can edit your asset’s template, learning objective, and lifespan settings.
