Set up the Learning Center to synchronize AD users from Azure

For the Cursum Learning Center to enable Azure AD synchronization, you have to set up an external course:

  1. In Cursum Learning Center, in Full Admin, on the toolbar on the right, select the external Login course that is used for your users to log on to your site.
    Note
You must have necessary administration rights, for example, as a member of Installation Owner role.
  2. On the Admin Start page, click Domain Admin, Domain settings, and then click Manage External Auth. Providers/Federated Issuers.

    Note
If you do not see this setting, contact your Cursum Partner for assistance.
  3. In the External Auth. Provider/Federated Issuer dialog, click Add new and choose the relevant issuer type, for example, O365 Azure App or O365 Azure Sync App

  4. Enter the App ID and App Key that you copied when you set up your domain to synchronize your Azure AD users, and then click Save.
  5. Back on the Domain Settings page, click Domain Editor and on the General Settings tab, next to the Tenant ID field, click Extract Tenant ID.
  6. In the dialog that appears, enter the name for the tenant and click Extract Tenant ID to copy it to the Tenant ID field.
  7. Click Setup mapping and in the User Property Mappings dialog, specify the following mapping settings:
    • Enable Managed Users – select this to ensure that the necessary AD users and their managers are synchronized.
    • Enable User Property Role Mapping – select this if you want to map a user field value with the corresponding role in the Learning Center.
    • Country – the default country of the user.
    • Language – the default language of the user.
    • Group – ensure that you have at least one group selected, for example, the All Users group.
  8. Click Save, and then back in the Course Editor, click External Auth Provider Mappings and in the External Auth Provider/Issuer dropdown, select the Sync issuer to permit the Learning Center to synchronize the AD users.
